Freemind. Cuecard or Mnemosyne. I used these pretty extensively the first time around. It helped tremendously. I have posted about these on www.techexams.net.

Hey Derick,
Thanks for taking the time to check out the blog but most of all thanks for your input. I have had to recommit to my plan and remain more focused on it. I think it's a pretty simple plan and we shall see if it's an effective plan. What's the plan? "Know the technologies" Anyway, any other tidbits of advice you got for me bro?

I engaged the procrastinator's plan. Buy the study material from INE, schedule the exam, and then live under constant fear of the lab date. Coming at me through time like a freight train.

It worked twice, I passed both times on my first attempt. I waited until 45-60 days out and did all of the on-demand classes and all of the practice labs and some mock labs and then some freestyle study time to clarify more obscure things (like multicast helper maps).

Get Safari. It'll save you cash. A lot Cisco Press books are filled with meaningless garbage, but they have a few paragraphs that help tremendously. With safari you can just find what you are looking for and ignore the rest. And save some trees maybe.

Hi Amp,

Have you just tried to hit the Setting button , then issue the keys **# , you should have a new softkey appearing on the display : "Erase" . Hit this new betton and it will erase all the configuration of the phone.
May be simpler way to erase the config.

The manual reset can be done with the sequence **#**

I'm hoping that it can help.

Hi Amp.
Great blog and I hope your lab exam prep is going well. I'm also preparing for it. Been beaten by v4 twice (got some decent battle scars to prove it), but not ready to throw in the towel yet - call me a sucker for punishment :)

Could you kindly email me when you get a sec as I'm trying to get in touch with Brian Luers (Not sure if you're able to see my contact details. If not, let me know).

Many thanks.

Cheers,
Gavin

no problemo.. i haven quite set the destination pattern for Joel. but then i guess i am still more human than cisco(the human network).... so ok... u can call me Joel... hehe

i believe u haven taken the written yet... and you are preparing for the lab... but then again... what happens to the written??... i have decided to pass the written and then get onto the lab.....coz its always good to begin with theory... and to have a sound theoretical background.... dont get me wrong... i have my share of difficulties with it(check my blog out)...but i am still going strong... ;)

Hello JoelJose420,
Mind if I call you Joel? Well anyway, thanks for checking out my blog. I decided not to blog about my written prep, I chose to focus more on my lab prep. James and Josh over at blindhog are both great to deal with. We all stand to learn a lot from them. You are ahead of the game with having full access to racks at your place. Best wishes with your studies.
