Buy the study material from INE, schedule the exam, and then live under constant fear of the lab date. Coming at me through time like a freight train. It worked twice, I passed both times on my first attempt. I waited until 45-60 days out and did all of the on-demand classes and all of the practice labs and some mock labs and then some freestyle study time to clarify more obscure things (like multicast helper maps).
